The Dead of Appin

A charred corpse in a burnt-out car leads Angus Blue to a trail of murder and corruption.

A woman returns to her self-catering cottage after an evening in Oban, only to find unwanted guests in the cottage. Before she can get out of the car, headlights suddenly dazzle her, and she tries to escape her pursuers.

Later that night DI Angus Blue is awakened by the sound of a fire engine crossing the Connel Bridge, and early in the morning he is summoned to a cottage in North Connel, where a charred body has been found in a burnt-out car. And the woman who rented the cottage is missing …

DI Blue and his team follow a trail of clues to uncover a plan which will make someone very rich, but destroy Oban and its surroundings.
